This song played when you play online with other players from around the world. However, I never like the online multiplayer mode. I only played story mode and the 2 player local mode where this song also played as well! It never played anywhere on story mode. only in modes against other players. One more thing! Splatoon is one of the most popular Nintendo games today because of the online multiplayer feature that's been a very big deal since Fortnite and Overwatch first released. We happened to be in a weird new era when online gaming is more of a thing now than old fashioned games but thankfully, the oldies are still around and more easier to pick up thanks to rom sites lol.
